(President) Andrew March is a first year graduate student in the Department
of Aeronautics and Astronautics researching computational aircraft design. He did his undergraduate degree at Cornell University and then worked on the
Falcon 1 and Falcon 9 launch vehicles at SpaceX in Los Angeles. It is in LA
where Andrew obtained his private pilot's certificate and instrument rating.
He is also rated for search and rescue flying with the Civil Air Patrol.
Andrew hopes to become a CFI, bring inexpensive flying to the MIT community,
and further MIT's connection to
aviation.
(Trips & Events) Fred is a senior in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He is currently
working on his Private Pilot certificate, and is an avid aviation photographer. He hopes
to one day either be involved in flight test at an aircraft company, or be a professional
pilot.
(Trips & Events) Suzanna is an undergraduate in the Sloan School of Management. She flies
Hang-Gliders and plans to involve herself in powered flight. Focusing her
academics on Marketing, she has a way with people, psychology, and a digital
camera. Obsessed with extreme activities: racing for the BMW CCA, rock/glacier
climbing, and the test of flying machines, Suzanna is not only crazy enough to
spend a year at the South Pole, but wily enough to co-chair Events &
Trip-Planning with the very talented Mr. Fred Gay.
(Books and Supplies)
Brandon is a sophmore undergraduate in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
His academic interests lie in the fields of control and propulsion systems.
He plans to become a private pilot during college and is highly interested in recreational
and serious aviation.
(Law and Liability) Andreas is a postdoctoral associate at the MIT Center for BioMedical
Engineering. He learned to fly with the Texas A&M University flying club while doing his
PhD in physics. He is a private pilot with about 100 hours and is currently working
towards his IFR rating and glider endorsement. He shares responsibility with Zach Labry
on the Law and Liability committee and together they are spearheading the effort to
obtain an aircraft for the MITFC in the near future.
(Webmaster) Robbie Ocampo, a recent graduate of Haverford College, is now slaving away
the best days of his life at the Jenks Vestibular Lab/Man Vehcile Lab,
where he specializes in vestibular physiology, space human factors, and procrastination.
He is slightly obsessive about running, is a big fan of the White Mountains and
Ashlee Simpson, and enjoys long walks on the beach. Robbie hopes to finish his pilot's license this spring.
